GROUND-BREAKING CEREMONY

JULY 16TH - NOON !

Dear Holy Spirit parishioners,

Like the angels on Christmas morning I have "good news of great joy"; Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi will be here for our ground-breaking ceremony on Saturday, July 16th, at noon!  The construction of Phase One of our parish Master Site Plan will begin soon after.  For twenty years the Long-Range Planning Committees have concluded that we need classrooms for all ages here at Holy Spirit.  Finally we will be able to build these much needed classrooms.  This two-story classroom building will meet the needs of Religious Education classes for all ages, on our own property.  It will also allow Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School to open the "Holy Spirit Campus", Pre-K through 6th grade, here in east Montgomery.  Details of the financial arrangement between Holy Spirit parish and MCPS are being finalized at this time.

On behalf of all of those who will benefit from our new facilities I express my sincere thanks to all who have made this possible.  We are indebted to parishioners over the years who have given countless hours serving on: the Pastoral Council, the Finance Council, the Long-Range Planning Committee, the "Growing in the Spirit" campaign committee, the "Building in the Spirit" campaign committee, the Building Committee, and various sub-committees that did surveys about how to house all of the ministerial needs of our parish. We will follow our Master Plan.

Obviously the financial support of each and every family and individual wage earner is crucial.  Your tithe to our Sunday collection and your pledge to our "Building in the Spirit" campaign makes it possible for us to build.  If you or other members of our parish are in the group that has not contributed to our Sunday collection on a regular basis, or have not pledged or donated to our "Building in the Spirit" campaign then please know how important it is for you to come on board now.  The more we contribute now, the less we will have to borrow from a bank in order to complete construction. Thanks to all who have contributed over the years!

We have parishioners who were here in 1977 when the parish was founded. We have others who just moved here.  It takes the generosity of all of us to make this happen. Congratulations!

Gratefully in Christ,

Fr. Charles Troncale
