Do you have plans for tonight?

You face extraordinary demands and your time is valuable.  The pace each day seems faster and the pressures greater then ever before - and it affects every area of your life, from the workplace to your home.  It takes a special Bible study to relate to your life - the Diocese of Little Rock Scripture Study makes you want to come back for more as it helps you weave your faith throughout your daily life.

Sure, it takes planning and willingness to give up a part of your day or evening.  But the returns are well worth the investment.  You'll learn how to apply a biblical perspective to the issues of today that concern you.  And you'll gain an inner strength as your faith grows.  You'll also receive fresh inspiration and insight that will help you manage the pressures of your life.

(1) Daily Personal Study
Participants spend about 20 minutes a day prayerfully reading and reflecting on a section of the Scriptures. Questions in the Study Guide direct the reflection, while the commentary provides solid Catholic scholarship that leads to deeper understanding.

(2) Weekly Small-Group Sharing
Participants gather weekly in groups of eight to twelve to pray and to share their responses to study questions. Trained small-group facilitators encourage members to share personal thoughts and experiences in an atmosphere of openness and trust.

(3) Wrap-Up Lecture
A brief lecture follows the small-group discussion to develop and clarify the themes of the lesson. The lectures may be delivered by local speakers or by audio- or video-taped lectures.

(4) Prayer
Prayer is the most essential of the elements. In addition to their daily personal prayer, participants use a simple, effective method of shared prayer in the small group. A source of unity, support, and guidance, prayer is the key to the success of the program.

Each participant studies on his/her own during the week with his/her own Bible, a study guide and bible commentary supplied with the course.  We then gather as small groups to pray, share, discuss and learn once a week for 90 mins.
